About us
OUR PART IS ART
Our Mission:
To raise awareness through art.
After working for many years in art studios it became clear that some of the modern sculpture materials such as foam and certain polymers were not very earth-friendly and were even creating a substantial amount of micro plastics.
At home, despite years of cultivating a zero-waste lifestyle, plastic waste still springs up at every turn, thin plastics being especially prevalent and non-recyclable to the average consumer. In the spirit of sustainability, we began collecting our plastic waste in a separate bin to be used as the base of future sculptures. Compressed and shaped by hand, we were surprised to see just how much plastic can be concealed within even a small sculpture.
In 2017, Endangered Concepts was born.
In 2021, we became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Our goals:
To beautify public spaces with ecological art.
To divert plastic waste from landfills and ecosystems through a plastic waste collection program.
To raise awareness for environmental issues through public art.
To raise funds for the conservation efforts that protect wildlife and their habitat.
To inspire communities and individuals to take action and get involved.
We invite you to join us on our journey because we are all in this together. Every action we take has an effect, and every time we lose a species to extinction, it is like losing a precious thread in the fabric of our world, causing us to unravel. The more species lost, the more fragile we become. Only together can we beat the odds. Help us create beauty to protect beauty.
Love,
The Endangered Concepts Team
“Art is standing with one hand extended into the universe and one hand extended into the world and letting ourselves be a conduit for passing energy.”
